Washington, DC is home to many of the nation’s best monuments, a number of which celebrate those who served our country. If you haven’t yet been, visiting the Vietnam Memorial and the Korean War Memorial can be an incredibly moving experience. Tourists flock to these monuments to pay their respects and honor the young men who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Aside from the more traditional monuments and memorials on the National Mall, there are a number of lesser-known spots that pay homage to our veterans.
The team at Park Van Ness put together a list of less common spots in the DMV that are worth visiting on Veterans Day. Check out these seven destinations that honor our vets.
