Summer may be here, but that doesn’t guarantee a chance to unwind — especially with the kids out of school. Schedule yourself some relaxation by booking a visit to a spa. The three below are some of the best ones in the D.C. area, each with a unique environment. We’ve highlighted amenities for each one in order to help you choose the best option for yourself.

Bliss Spa at W Hotel

The Bliss Spa at W Washington D.C. is a hip, urban oasis. Their clever menu includes popular services such as a Ginger Rub, Head-to-’Glow’ Treatment, Betweeny Wax, and Triple Oxygen treatment. Bliss also offers massages, facials, waxing, body treatments, nail care, and services for men. A full list of their spa services and descriptions can be found here. Bliss has found the perfect balance in the hustle and bustle of D.C. Their rhythm and blues tunes and legendary brownie buffet truly set the mood. Clients applaud the ability to book online and tip with a credit card. The location is also perfect for a quick drop-in before or after work, especially if you’re near Metro Center or the White House.

Mandarin Oriental

Spread across 10,500 square feet, Mandarin Oriental is one of the best five star spas in the D.C. area. The serene atmosphere is complemented with a zen-like ambience. Their spa menu offers a range of holistic treatments and therapies from around the world, including bamboo massages, cherry blossom treatments, gentlemen’s reviver facials, and rebalancing rituals. Additionally, Mandarin Oriental has partnered with the renowned beauty line, Biologique Recherche, to create a variety of treatments that are tailored to each guest. Mandarin Oriental also gives you a daily spa service credit of $50 USD per day with a stay of two nights or more.
